Game Maker 8.1 was discontinued years ago. YoYo Games, which later became part of Opera, stopped selling licenses for version 8.1 around 2012–2013 when they released GameMaker: Studio. The online validation servers for 8.1 Pro were eventually shut down. Even if you find a valid license key online, the software cannot “phone home” to authenticate it.
