: Ensure the microSD card is fully and correctly seated in the adapter. Sometimes, leaving the adapter slightly unlatched or re-inserting it multiple times resolves the read error. Format via PC First : Use a computer to format the microSD card as 64KB allocation unit size . For some setups, flashing the card with a zzblank.img

If GUIFormat fails, the card’s partition table might be corrupted. The (created by the SD Association) is the "gold standard" for resetting a card to its factory state. Download it from sdcard.org .

Use a drop of isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip to clean the gold pins on the back of the card. Dust or finger oils can cause communication drops.
