The most significant criticism leveled at 100 Days of Love is its second half. Once the conflict (the mistaken identity) is revealed, the pacing drags considerably. The narrative becomes repetitive, with Balen repeatedly failing to meet Sheela. The urgency implied by the title "100 Days" feels lost in a sluggish screenplay.

The story follows Balan K. Nair (Dulquer Salmaan), a columnist in Bangalore who is recovering from a rough breakup. His life takes a turn when he encounters Sheela (Nithya Menen) on a rainy night and finds a camera she left behind in a taxi. As he uses the photos to track her down, he discovers she is a childhood schoolmate with whom he had a long-standing rivalry.
