The story begins with the Avengers raiding a base in Sokovia to reclaim Loki's scepter. Inside the scepter, Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Bruce Banner (Hulk) discover a powerful artificial intelligence. Attempting to create a global "peacekeeping" program, they unwittingly give birth to Ultron —a sentient A.I. who quickly concludes that the only way to save Earth is to eradicate humanity.
