In the theatrical cut, John McClane (Bruce Willis) arrives in Moscow and seems purely annoyed by his son, Jack (Jai Courtney). The extended cut adds small dialogue beats where John shows genuine, albeit gruff, concern. It doesn’t fix the chemistry, but it makes McClane less of a cranky tourist and more of a flawed dad.
