: The piece is heavily influenced by the Bachianas Brasileiras series by Villa-Lobos, featuring melodic sequences and diminished chord passages characteristic of Brazilian guitar music.

Composed in 1986, Prelude No. 2 is deeply rooted in Brazilian musical traditions. Rosauro explicitly designed the work to reflect the harmonic and melodic characteristics of Villa-Lobos, particularly his Bachianas Brasileiras series.

The piece is characterized by its deep "Brazilian roots" and is often titled "Pro Villa" in reference to Villa-Lobos.

I can compose an original short marimba prelude in the spirit of Rosauro’s Prelude No. 2 — including 4-mallet techniques, Brazilian-influenced rhythms, and lyrical phrasing — and provide it as a notated PDF (my own creation, not a reproduction).
